Steve's Award winning Image – MPA Industrial Photography 2011

Manchester based Studio 3000 Ltd photographer Steve Eckersall has won a top prize in a major international photography award.

Steve won the Industrial Photographer of the Year in the 2011 Master Photography Awards. Steve beat-off stiff competition to scoop his prize, with other leading photographers from across Britain and worldwide, all striving for recognition in the Awards.

Hundreds of professional photographers from around the world were joined by representatives from the major photographic companies at the glittering Awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Newcastle.

The Awards, run by the Master Photographers Association (MPA), is one of the most prestigious within the photographic profession. Membership of the association is restricted to full time professional photographers who must qualify to the minimum required Licentiateship standard. The organisation exists to promote and maintain standards of excellence and professionalism within the photographic industry.

MPA Chief executive, Colin Buck was delighted with this year’s entries and paid tribute to Steve’s success: “All submissions were judged on the same criteria – artistic merit, good use of lighting, composition and print quality. The standard of the entries this year was possibly the best ever. Winning a Master Photography Award is a huge honour for any photographer and I’m delighted for Steve. I’m sure he will use his Award to help further his career. He is a credit to the Association and a credit to the profession!”
